Z1000 rear foot rest hanger

#1 PostAuthor: ANDREW NICHOLSON » Mon Mar 17, 2014 2:31 pm

Anyone here know of a fix or replacement part for the Rear foot rest hanger on my Z1000 , both mine have a bad case of rot. I have seen some poorly repaired hangers in the past but would like mine to look close to the original as possible.

I tried a search on here but cant seem to find a previous thread without trawling through pages and pages of linked threads.

I'd just cut off the threads for the footrests and the exhaust and get a competent welder to weld 2 new bars back onto the frame.

But finding someone who knows what they are doing is the difficult part.

z1000's a1/a2 are pressed steel "water traps" not round bars like onthe ltd's or z900's.
