I use RDG, and the vast majority of what they sell is Chinese (not complaining and I've always been happy with RDG's stuff; had a delivery from them last week).
I think there is a misconceived perception of all Chinese stuff being rubbish. A while back when most of it was made by a 'slanty eyed little bastard' ((C) HRH Prince Phillip) in a coolie hat holding the work between his toes this was probably true.
However, the Chinese, like it or not, have for some time been the biggest investors in manufacturing plant and machinery on the globe and IMNSHO quality has come on in leaps and bounds.
The anti-chinese prejudice really does sound like the 'jap-crap' comments one heard so often in the seventies. We in the Western World have priced ourselves out of the market for low ticket mass manufactured goods. No doubt China will too at some point in the future as living standards and expectations rise but for now they are on a rising tide.

I agree that China must be producing a lot of good stuff too, let's be honest they are probably producing most of the stuff the world is buying today, but it's also where all the 'virtual products' as Mick calls them are made too.
Several hundred container ships full of crap lands on our shores at Christmas, after being drawn from the earth, manufactured using our fuel reserves, shipped around the world - again at a massive cost to the planet, and 2 days later it's all in the landfill. virtual Christmas presents that just look like real things, but only exist to get your money off you. They ought to bring back the British standards and stop this crap from being sold.
You get what you pay for, but continuing to buy cheap crap means they continue to sell it.
