VM28SS Carb Help

#1 PostAuthor: njwmct » Sat Feb 08, 2014 12:16 pm

I'm just in the process of rebuilding my Mark 2 carbs.
My problem concerns the Needle jets.
I purchased 4 genuine Mikuni Jets from Allens Performance.
On replacement 3 of the jets are a nice 'push-fit' & had to be tapped lightly into place.

But one of the jets is a loose fit.

I'm not sure whether this is a problem or not, as the main jet holder / emulsion tube seems to hold the needle jet in place.

Do I need to get another jet or is this OK?

unless its as loose as a prick in a shirt sleeve i would leave it as it is the emulsion tube should prevent it moving

The Jet will fall in / out if you turn the carb over - but once the emulsion tube is in place it doesn't seem to rattle around.

as the jet is stepped it seals on this part of the jet & shouldn't cause any fuel to leak past the outer part of the jet which you say is loose
