paint!

#1 PostAuthor: dynodave » Sun Jan 26, 2014 8:50 pm

Can anybody recommend any painters in the midlands area that can paint a Z1b in the correct shade with the correct stripes and make a good job without breaking the bank?

Cheers

Dave

You could look at getting a new set and selling your original set. It might work out cheaper in the long run.

from Z1 Enterprises.

That's the guy i've just been looking on ebay for you .
Glyn's suggestion about getting new from Z1ent is also well viable , but you'll have to add 20% on this side of the water :grr

it is what it is. a cheap & a reasonable job i wouldn't be happy with the z1a or z1b paint job if it where mine. for someone to advertise on e bay for work cannot be that good. if the work was that good he wouldn't need to advertise. i think Simon ( flying tiger ) has only been doing bike paintwork for a couple of years & has an exceptional reputation & does a fantastic job as many guys on here will agree

When I went to see the guy he was saying he gets a lot of work off the ebay advert, he hasn't got round to launching his website yet, he also paints for RWHS and some other shops, he had a lot of orders to get through when I was there, I wouldn't knock the guy until I have actually seen the finished article, who knows, it might be cheap and good, the others might be expensive!

I'd say you are better going to someone who has been recommended.

You don't know how "good" a painter is until he has made a complete cnut of your bike or car!!

Its not how nice the paint looks today.
Its how well it lasts.

Most of the labour in paint is in the prep work.
That's the bit you cannot see.

I paint my own bikes.
I can get a decent finish but I know it wont last as long as a pro job.

You cannot use quality paints and still do a cheap job.
I use a £40 a gallon clear coat. It looks fine for a year or 2 but it never
gets as hard or scratch resistant as the better brands.

The A4 I have just bought from RWHS was sprayed for them I think by the guy off e-bay and the stripes on the tail are not very good at all. The lines are a bit wavey . They have two painters on there web site Dream Machine & Trade Paint
