1000 a rear hub trouble

#1 PostAuthor: spudcaster » Wed Oct 09, 2013 9:38 pm

is there anybody out there who could tell me how to identify rear hubs ,ive got what im told is a 1000 a1 hub it has 4 bolt holes for the disc .trying to get the correct sprocket carrier to match this is proving to be a nightmare as the 2 ive been sold from a well known auction sight have been totally wrong. so im assuming they are 900 one,s no;040 ,but now im beginning to wonder if its the hub its self is wrong. the only no; i can find on it is K48 a-2 can anybody give me any advise, dimensions etc thanx spud

yes it does look like it from that side .so maybe the hub is right and the sprocket carriers i have are from something else as 1 is to big to fit in and the other goes in but put it in the swing arm and the hub centre is way to far over to the right to get the caliper bracket in even without any spacers

Spud
The 040 carrier is from a Z1000 Alloy wheel.Which are wider.
This one should measure about 45mm from edge to face of sprocket.

The one I have on my wire wheels is about 20mm, but I cant see the number as its still on the bike.

So not sure of the correct number though

I am pretty sure that the 1978 z1000 A2 is the same sprocket carrier
