Has anyone found exhaust paint to include the headers which actually works?
Stuff I have used in the past just burns off

I was looking for some ceramic resin paint and found Duplicolor do High Heat ceramic based spray cans (<1200F).
you can buy it here, and although I haven't tried it, it's got the right technology and should be much better than anything else in a can.

it says matt black on the tin but more like silk black
had it on my gpz1100b1 exhausts inc headers for over a year now with no problems.

I don't think there is anyone selling it in the UK yet, only offering it as a service. A friend of mine works at Riflecraft Ltd near me, who have started to get into automotive stuff. Certainly awesome stuff and I would like to get hold of it. Great simple process too - bead blast, paint, bake - done!

I saw rifle craft and would love to try ceracote, but thought it would work out too expensive for the bikes I'm doing. I did see though that caswelll are now selling duracoat, which is supposed to be an air drying version ceracote. They even do a 'shake and spray' kit, which you don't need a gun (spray ) for.

Would be good to finally find a more permanent and durable solution to Z1 engine and exhaust painting.

They both look good too, bonus that duracoat it is air dry.

I think cerakote gets its durability from the baking process, there is a 'durability' scale somewhere showing powdercoat, duracoat and cerakote on a chart, i will try and find it. I will cerakote some engine casings soon, i will let you know how they come out. The finish is also very similar to the Z1 black finish.

I'm not sure how much Riflecraft charge, but im pretty certain its cheaper than you would expect. I'm going to check how big their oven is, and if big enough i would like to cerakote my triumph T595 frame! I think these types of military coatings are definitely the way to go!
