My bike has Dyna S ignition and coils and a Stack revcounter. The Stack takes its feed from one of the coils and it's not reading the right engine speed. I think the problem is that I have programmed the wrong number of impulses per engine revolution. The Stack manual is written for a car and the manual says that the number of cylinders should equal the number of ignition pulses per revolution, i.e. 4. I guess the author thought that most engines just had one coil which fires all cylinders.
However the Dyna S has in effect two ignition circuits and two coils. My guess is that each coil fires once per revolution as the Dyna S controller turns at engine speed and there are two sensors, one for each coil.
Can somebody tell me if my assumption is right?
many thanks and look forward to meeting some of you at the Ace tomorrow.
