alternator cover oil leak,

Ive done a search but it will only let me open the first page, so any help would be appreciated.
I have the usual weep from the wires/rubber seal on the generator cover. in all the years ive had zeds ive never managed to get one 100% oil tight . Whats the best sealent to use,

I reckon its pot-luck getting them "leak free" :?? My bestest Zed has weeped for the 8 yrs I've owned it - after 3 or 4 attempts at sealing it - even with new grommets :roll:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Peter,

I picked up this method from other threads on this forum.

I have used it successfully on several occasions.

Parts must be completely oil free, brake cleaner will sort that out!

Brake cleaner then silicone did it for mine ok
