you got the wrong end of the stick there - I said you said silver, it was the pdf steve mentioned which said gold.

Now then Keith remember you can only say politically correct things on the site now so behave.
Mark chill out mate your paintwork stands any scrutiny. Many good painters out there but for me if its a standard zed paint job you are the only one I and many others will trust the work to. I have my Harley paint set booked in with Simon at Flying Tiger as I want none standard airbrush work so cannot be accused of bias. Each to their own.

Id like to say thanks to Hutch for the PM.
Id love to come and seek advice if your not too far away. Ta.
Now,im the 1st to admit,i'll take advice from anybody who has done it before,as I will never stop learning.
Ive in the past experimented with spraying orange candy over black, but Ive never had the result i wanted? When i spotted the 1973-1974 kawasaki colour chart that gives the gold pearl top coat,it made me think that this is where Ive gone wrong,by missing this stage out. Maybe not?
Rather than ask a dozen questions here,I'll see if I can get together with Hutch sometime and take expert advice.
This is one of the good things about this and some other forums, people who know how to do things, share advice and help, rather than keep info to themselves. Respect to those people.
Away from paint,i was having trouble with my new TIG welder. A well respected custom bike builder popped in,checked my machine settings, said they looked fine, and scratched his chin in thought? He asked,"do you close the door when you weld?". Not fully I said. Job sorted, Shut the door. I could have struggled on for hours and hours with frustrating welding problems. Other peoples advice is worth taking!!!! LOL.

I have seen Hutch`s work and it is the best I have seen. Top notch. If I were to have a standard paint set done - they would be going his way.

Please don't (keep your gob shut).
Just remember that the written word can come across very differently to the spoken. A throwaway comment down the pub can seem like a mortal insult when it's written down
