well, thanks to all for their input. It's actually been very educational. The head I started the thread off about is just a spare and not for anything yet, so I've got some Plastiguage now and I'll have a look at the spare caps I've got just out of curiosity. There's always a first time for everything if you want to learn, but having some idea of what you may encounter helps a lot - that's why this site exists.

I've got an 8-plug head that I had to get caps for......... Not yet got round to checking fitment - but if you have probs, perhaps we can have a Swap-Shop Session if needs be :?:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
