What engine finish

#1 PostAuthor: glav666 » Sun Dec 02, 2012 8:48 pm

I have my z900 a4 engine stripped and ready to be cleaned, i was thinking of bead blasting it as it really cruddy and no amount of hand cleaning has managed to get it to the finish i have seen on some of the bikes here.

If i bead blast it is there a sealant or anything that will help keep it clean, does anyone know if Kawasaki coated the cast engines or were they a natural finish??

Any help or suggestions on this would be appreciated

Suuton soda blasting 07970 274573. Andy runs Sutton soda and has the unit next to mine. I agree vapour blasting looks dull and it also marks very easy. Soda causes no harm and removes all traces of dirt and grime. After soda blasting the cases are ball burnished leaving the cases looking fantastic and so much better, and safer than vapour blasting. Andy is also a lot cheaper than Steve Smethurst. Ive done some engine work for Rick Brett lately and he is very happy with the finish.Andy also cleans Dave Orritts engines before I re-build them and Dave is very happy with the finish.
