Z1100 shaft Alternator

#1 PostAuthor: RALPHARAMA » Sun Oct 28, 2012 7:07 pm

As I mentioned in the project thread; I have either the wrong windings or the wrong rotor on my Z1100shaft motor,

Looking at these pix anyone know which is the correct bit and which the interloper?

If it's the winding I can probably get a new one from electrex world, but there's no point until I know which IS the villain of the peace!

Rotor.

Hi Ralph
I had some problems with the rotor on my "Septic" as Paul D calls it. Some of the magnets had broken and come detached from the metal rotor . I replaced the whole rotor with an Electrex unit at a cost of approx £140.
The diameter of the old one was 5inches from outside to outside. As I havent mastered the art of Phopo Bucket , I will ask Paul to post some pix.
Well done on the re build Ralph, I have followed with great intrest.
Tim.

Ralph,

Didn't that motor come with a Uni-trak head? Was wondering if that might be a Uni-trak crank or rotor at least.

Mk2 rotor/stator diameter is smaller than Gpz, looks like you have a MK2 rotor and GPZ stator.
