Harder valve springs for a Z1000J with UT cams ?

#1 PostAuthor: nanno » Tue Aug 28, 2012 8:20 am

As a matter of fact, I am not sure, whether the GPZ1100UT has got harder valve springs than a Z1000J already in stock form ?

I will use the UT cams with shims on top of the buckets, firstly because I have them and secondly, because quite a few people use Andrews 3x with shims on top and they're a lot hotter...

So the question is: Would it make a difference to get UT valve springs or should I buy something from Ray Debben, because with valve springs, from my point of view, it is a case of: as hard as necessary, as soft as possible (to prevent unnecessary stress on the valve train).

Cheers,
Greg
There's no replacement for displacement!
