Simpleton strikes again - Warped Disk Syndrome !

Guys, hoping you might cast some light on my latest tale of woe !
Recently changed my alloys for a set of wire wheels - and it seemed like such a grand idea at the time !

My Zed is fitted with AP Racing Claipers that were working a treat, lots of bite and lots of feel. But since fitting the wire wheels I get a strange pulsing through the bars and pretty chronic intermitent drag at low speed light brake pressure application. I cant fathom why ?
It feels just like my disks are warped but the disks appear to be true - not warped, the caliper pistons are free moving, there's no drag when I spin the wheel, wheel is correctly balanced, new tyres, new bearings etc etc

Any thoughts on what might be causing this would be appreciated, as its doing my head in

Sounds like your hub is off centre, you will need to get the wheel trued by someone who knows what they are doing, its a job that needs doing now and again with spoked wheels.

If you can set it up on a manual wheel balancer or something like that and check it for wobble or even set up a pointer at the rim it will give a good indication of the problem when you rotate it.

I agree with zoa if they were fine on the other wheels then it sounds like your wheel needs sorting. Not a big job half hour for some one who knows what they are doing.

Runout limit has to be very very slight with a disc..... or you get high/low spots which get worse the more they're used

Make sure the rotor mating face on the wheel hub is 100% flat & CLEAN !!!

Get a mic on them & see what you've got

Thanks guys - I'll have the hub checked for alignment, and I will double check the rotor mount & spacers over the weekend.
