Z1A Calipers and O-Rings

#1 PostAuthor: IrishKev » Tue May 29, 2012 10:46 am

I have stripped the calliper of my Z1A and I am trying to put it back together.
The two bolts that go through the callipers have 4 slots/grooves each.
I have two o-rings to put on each bolt but it is not obvious to me which slots/grooves the o-rings go into. :) What is the function of the o-rings? The calliper holding the brake pad does not slid across the bolts when the o-rings are sitting in the slots/grooves in the center of the bolt. Should the o-rings be on the outer slots/grooves?
Hoping someone might be able to help me with this as I have asked a number of people including Z Power but nobody could tell me.

I thought you should have 4 'O' rings two on each bolts think they stop the caliper body moving as in vibrating stop rattling on bolts ,,may be wrong though

Hi Steve
You are correct, 2 o-rings on each bolt, the bolt has 4 slots, so i am wondering what 2 slots the 2 o-ring go on to.
