Spark plug recommendation non stock Z900 motor

#1 PostAuthor: martinz1000r » Sat May 19, 2012 3:05 pm

What plugs should I use on my Z900? Motor is 1260cc breathing via CR carbs and pretty much straight through exhaust. Dyna ignition, 3 ohm coils and Taylor leads.

Do I stick to those recommended for stock or would you recommend different?

Road use only.

I've been using DENSO Iridium in my Zeds for the last couple years - no probs..... me Z1000A2 has been sprinted, long runs to & from York, short trips to & from Work, etc...... still on same set - slightly colder/harder grade than standard..... IW-27

Not cheap, but I'd recommend them

Running NGK B9ES in the Z1R and DENSO IW27's in the supercharged one.
Had no problems with either make.
Denso IW27 is heat range equivalent of the NGK 9's.
They also do IW31 which is same as NGK10's.
