Z1A throttle slide heights

#1 PostAuthor: nealblath » Fri May 11, 2012 8:04 am

I noticed from previous posts that it recommends setting slide heights at 0.7mm.........what does this mean and how do you do it?

I am planning balance carbs when engine is running so does this mean I don't have to bother setting slide heights now?

thanks Neal

yes you should do this - it gets them roughly in the right area to balance.

it also stops them being too high and hence revving the nuts off it when you start the bike.

When setting the 0.7mm gap, do you measure from the top of the little notch at the front of the slide to the bottom of the bore, or from the bottom of the slide, where the notch is, to the bottom of the bore?
