totally thick on electrics!

#1 PostAuthor: nealblath » Sat Apr 28, 2012 1:57 pm

just sorting out the wiring on my 74 Z1A but like a t**t I didn't label everything 8 years ago!

pretty much done but there is a little box slung under the battery compartment, regualtor or rectifier?, which has a cable with 4 wires and a green plug on which is obvious where it plugs in, but it also has a single black wire which I am not sure where it goes........help please!

Black wire is the earth and needs to bolt direct to the engine (or frame)

If it's long enough it would be best connected direct to the battery -ve terminal. I'm sure later modified versions of the regulator had a separate black wire which was intended to connect direct to the battery instead of it being connected via the green plug to an earth.
