Z1-R (D1) Carb breather hose routing?

#1 PostAuthor: ruffle » Thu Feb 09, 2012 4:11 pm

On a '78 Z1R, where are the breather hoses from carbs 2 & 4 meant to end up? Should they just flap about in the general vacinity of the airbox or do they have a 'proper' home?

TIA.

Definitely a proper home.
most likely up to each side by the plastic baffle plate below the rear of the tank - or could be down between airbox and side panel.
Someone will be here soon to tell you.

www.cmsnl.com says it should be 5mm inner diameter, 8mm outer diameter and 550mm in length to route properly.
part no. is 92059-1028 and they are still avail at 12 euro if you want gen items

Oh I've got the pipes and looking at the ends they've had wire type clamps on them at some point..... but when I got the bike these pipes were just lying over the top of the airbox and I'd like to put them back in the 'right' place.

Mine just go past the end of the tank on top of the airbox lid clipped in their clip.
But there are only two, or do you mean the bowl over flow pipes ,they go into a rubber ring round the os rear engine mount and down the back of the engine.

Yes I mean the two pipes that go from carbs #2 and #4 (not the 4 overflow ones).

So they don't actually terminate on anything on your bike Ted... curious; perhaps the hoseclamp marks on mine are because the pipes have been used on sommat else in the past.
