Getting to the point where I will be ready to put the bottom end of the engine back together.
Notice on the Debben site that you can get new stud bolt sets that run from the upper crankcase to where the cylinder head bolts down onto.
Anyway, I understand that the new sets will have great strength and will now have stretched, but what if I leave my bolts well alone?
Is there anyway of checking their condition? Has anyone had any problems with utilising their standard in-situ studs?
Are they worth it for a standard engine rebuild?
I should point out that the existing ones look fine to me but after 32 years are they past their sell by?
Experienced rebuilders / Expert views please, Thanks
