DDZ900, I've often wanted to remove those aluminium/steel plugs in the Z series head.
Do you drill and tap them or use a stick weld like removing a dent.
Do you have to replace the plug with aluminium/ steel stock?
Are they slightly tapered or just a slight interference fit?
I have seen a few heads with blockages in the skewed oil passage from the head stud holes on each end to the galleries, where the plugs are fitted.

oil gallery plugs
hi garn ! there just a interferance fit ,drill & tap them using a slidehammer to draw them, then i just get my local lathe man to make x4 billet ones then locktight & tap them in ! easy peezy

Why do any of you have the insides blasted???Blank of threads, make gaskets, dont blast the inside of your casings or head and go to someone who understands what damage can happen if media gets inside your new built motor! Its more effort making blanks and gaskets but really worth it. No body can guarantee they have got all the media out so do what you can yourself to avoid it getting in the first place.

I remember that........ All ended in tears.
