can i fit a earlier panel

hi , dont ask why but i would like to fit the earlier side panels on to my a4 the right hand one does not seem to be a problem but the left hand side looks a bit off , any advice welcome .
The bike came fitted with the earlier air box when i bought it so no problem with that .

Paul McEleney did this to his 1075 project. It involves cutting off the necessary brackets and repositioning to suit.

They look good once it`s all done but sadly the pics have been lost in the site meltdown.

Pretty sure 2 of the lugs line up but if I recall, the lower one needs repositioning.

Some of the later bikes had removable Brkts with a mounting point on.

If you can locate something like this, you might be able to fit that without taking to the hacksaw.

Of course, this is all dragged out of memory from 30 years ago...so could be all rubbish.

Dirk, I have looked at modifying the A4 to take Z1 series side covers and it is not easy. The biggest problem is, as you mention, the left hand side. and its to do with the seat key-lock position. I think if you can devise a way of not having this facility, it is possible and can look good.
