Hi paul welcome to the sight, the stripes on my z1a sizes are top two 10mm, the ones on the side are 7mm and 30mm tapering down to 20mm the taper starts 3/4 from the front of the tank,if you look in the galleries page 1-32 look at hobbo's z1a you will see what i mean.ps the paint work on my bike is original so the sizes should be pretty accurate hope this helps.

ZaPaul, Have to disagree with DavyT, although there was a green & yellow Z1A on the cover of Classic Motorcycle Mechanics sometime last year that has the stipes as he suggests. However, I am strongly of the opinion, after studying those lines for some years and viewing many originals that the top lines (yellow) are 7mm thick and the white side one's are just over is 7mm not quite 8mm. Agree with the wider stipe dimensions.

Well garn got tape and rechecked mine again the top ones my be closer to 9mm,but you would be spliting hairs and as they were hand painted at the factory there is bound to be some variation.
