Hi Gents, I've sent a question about APE seals availability to Pitstopperformance ang got this response:

"The APE valve seals are not what you want. Neither are the ones that you were looking at when you sent this e-mail. Both are sub-standard. I only carry them because some people want cheap.
The best seals made are Viton and I have them. They are $25.50 a set and shipping to Poland is $6.00.
Do some research of Viton as a material and you will see why these are the
best for this application."

At 30 odd dollars vitons are cheap too. I've read about viton material and it all makes sense but has anyone actually fitted them and used for a longer while so could comment?
Any input much appreciated.

I use Viton seals.

Yes they do work and yes they stay softer for much longer. I also use Viton crank seals on my Jawa and they outlast the standard material by years, even if I store the engine and the crank is not move, they will not bind.

Cheers,
Greg

I have used viton seals, not only in engines but also on electro plating lines and the material is bloody good stuff.
