900 A4 Carb jet size

#1 PostAuthor: Andy M » Sun Jun 12, 2011 5:13 pm

I am going back to std airbox on my a4 and looking at the jets it came with (k &ns fitted) they are 115 main and 17.5 pilot. Are these std jets, has it not been jetted for filters ?? It seems to have the air corrector kit fitted in the back of the carb, do I need to do anything other than whip them out for airbox use?? Thanks in advance.

PS before the site went t1ts up someone asked me if I was going to a meet over Gloucester way, sorry I didn't get to answer, no I'm not going I'm bolting engine back in the frame, now decided to sling the k & ns. The meet may have been today though ?? :??

PS. what is the float height also??

Assuming you have standard 26mm carbs 115/17.5 is correct.

I always check my float height with the carbs on the bike but according to the Z-Power parts book the setting is 24mm.

FWM says for VM26SS main jet 115R, pilot jet 17.5, 1.5, air screw 1 3/8 turns out, service fuel level 3mm plus or minus 1mm, set the needle height to groove 3 counting from the top.
From this I can see that the only difference from Hack's is the fuel level, best to set it using the clear type tube with the carbs on the bike and have it between 2 and 4mm below the carb body (float chamber mating surface)
