Z1R forks

#1 PostAuthor: Z1parR » Mon Mar 01, 2010 8:14 pm

Hi does anybody know just what the differences are in A1 and A2/Z1R forks besides about 100 quid . I understand the A1 forks are 10mm longer but would like to know just where this 10mm is and just how easily removed/machined this extra metal is . I am mechanically and machining minded so doing MAY not be a whole world of pain :?? Has anybody been down this route and come up with any conclusions . Clearly i am trying to save a quid here   Not tight just careful .
Thanks guys .

I have fitted Z1R forks to my A1. There’s no dimensional differences. Later forks have better damping, springing and of cause calliper mounts.
A2 1979-80. A1 1980-now
