A Daft Question

#1 PostAuthor: martinz1b » Mon Feb 01, 2010 6:24 pm

I need to know the cylinder numbering sequence as if I was sat on the bike. Is it No.1 on the left and No.4 on the right. I seem to remember this was the case but it's been a long time and my mind is not what it was  :??
This is for a Z1B

Thanks

#1 is on the left (side stand side) working to #4 on the right (rear brake pedal)

Just like reading a book :??
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

No such thing as a daft question, apart from the one you don't ask.

Not daft at all, I have to think about it every time I drop the engine out of my chassis. Just remember A is the 1st letter of the alphabet

Definitly, not a daft question. The number of times I start numbering valves from No1 to No4, then I decide to number the exhaust (or inlet) and turn the engine head around and start numbering again.... Only to find, I have them numbered, either exhaust or inlet, back-to-front.

Working out which is the LHS and which is the RHS of a motor cycle always gets me confused. I always have to go back to sitting on the bike to work it out... Daft?

That's exactly the problem. I couldn't remember if it was No.1 on the left as I was sat on the bike or from the front. I like Pigfords explanation, simple but to the point.

Martin, does your optician own a Zed as well then?

Daft question/Daft answer. But true not in all of the books.
