Got a manual on-off-res tap to replace the vacuum one on my Z650.
As per previous threads have had the panels painted and refitted them, just fitted the new tap, (Z-Power aftermarket one), and the fibre washers it came with and both bolts were seeping when i filled to test on the bench, nipped em up, still the same.
Took the battered old plastic washers which were on the vacuum tap(s) before and worked OK, rear one OK but front still seeping very slightly, it's not much but it bugs me lots, now the washers are well and truly abused from previous use, front one especially with a slightly ovalled bolt hole, (they were like that from the point I had the bike) and having some thick translucent plastic caps from the suspension spheres I recently changed on the Xantia I thought I might make a couple of plastic washers with them.
Anyone tried anything like this? know of any potential problems and does the plastic need to be of a certain type?
Cheers
Mike
