I have sold my wire wheels a while ago in order to fund the purchse of some alloys ones. I went to fit them but the spacers aren't right for my A1. I'm sure these came off a z900A4 but can't be sure now. Anyway can anyone tell me what si the size of spacers I need at either side to get these to sit correctly. I'm assuming that the distance between the outside of the sprocket and the outside of the disk remains the same as it was or I am in deep trouble.

pity you didn't post this 2 months ago when I had my rear wheel out to fit a brake disc.

if you have a look a your brake caliper where your pads are located there is a notch in the caliper you might have to remove your pads ive set my up so there a even gap between the notch and the disc on my bike its 2mm each side this how i work out what spacer i needed when fitting my alloy wheels to suit the jmc swingarm. i have some spacers left that idid not use let me no what spacers you need because i have some spare that might be use full to you i will send free of charge.

As it stands it looks like I'm missing 11mm's woth of spacers. This seems to be made up of 5mm on inside of the caliper and 6mm the outside but that doesn't seem right somehow. Also it appears my sprocket is too close to the chain adjuster. Can someone measure that for me as mine is about 4mm off the top of the nut with a tabbed spacer behind or 13mm off the face of the sprocket.

Are those wheels Kawasaki ? If so the sprocket carrier is also needed plus the spacer to fit left side.

Yeah these are standard kawa z alloys. The sprocket carrier plays to part in this as it fits around the outside of the spacer. I just need the distance between the face of the sprocket and the inside of the adjuster.

just measured my, this on jmc swingarm i have 13mm from the face of the sprocket to the swingarm

Cheers for that. Seems it is right after all. Thanks for the offer of spacers but it looks like I'll have to get a couple made up as I will need a 5mm and a 6mm. Be grateful if anyone else is running these wheels can confirm that they have a 5/6mm spacer between the caliper and the swingingarm.

the block of wood is 8 mm thick.

there is less than 2 mm clearance between the chain adjuster and the bolt ends for the sprocket.

Cheers for the trouble you have gone too. I feel a lot better for that. As you appear to have the same wheels I used to have can you measure roughly with a tape what the distance is from the outside of the sprocket or chain to the outside of the brake disk on the other side.

From memory, ... In the last picture there is a spacer missing which sits inside the sprocket carrier seal against the bearing and goes up against the adjuster, it should be about 25mm give or take some, but some is lost inside the seal. This is only from memory as I ain't seen a standard one for years.

your memory ois good - no idea about the hieght of the spacer.

Can someone measure roughly with a tape what the distance is from the outside of the sprocket or chain to the outside of the brake disk on the other side of their z1000A1? I presume an Z900A4 or Z1000A2 will be the same. I'm just wanting to reassure myself that this distance is the same or different to that of my alloy wheels.

just measyred mine,inside sprocket to inside disc,6 inch and 5 eighths.if that helps.
