Haynes says VM 26 but googling for VM 26, the tops are different to mine.

Z1000 A1, standard as far as I know.

looks like the same carbs as on my z1000 a1 as well. dont know the model number and cannot find the information in the kawasaki service manual either.

Hi 02 they look the same as the vm 26's i have on my a2 , and i got mine from a kawasaki main dealer who had them sitting on the shelf for years.

They’re off a 1000 A1 or A2. There is no pilot air screw. The A2 had 5DL needles.
A2 1979-80. A1 1980-now

nope - deffo have got pilot screw - first photo, can just about see a part of it to the right of the float, and above the oil pressue switch cap.

There are 2 pilot holes in the carb bore. 1 either side of the throttle slide. The pilot screw on these is a by-pass screw. It controls the amount of air/fuel that can flow into the port after the throttle slide. The mixture is controlled by fixed jets. There is no pilot air screw on the side of the carb to adjust the mixture.
A2 1979-80. A1 1980-now
