Standard(ish) wheel re-building
I'm looking to get Hagon or someone to rebuild my existing hubs with new 17" rims and spokes. Anyone done this? I'm wondering if there are any pitfalls and also how wide a rim and tyre can I put on the back with the standard setup (Swinging arm) using offset sprockets? Again any pitfalls I should be aware of?
A ken fit like!
You can go to 3.5 inch rim with out offsetting sprockets, but the tyre (140 section ) may rub the swing arm when pushed fully forward, you will either need to replace the arm or limit the chain adjusters so that the wheel can not travel fully forward, as you are fitting a 17 " rim this may improve over my 18 ", I fitted a different arm which was a little longer and a 130 tyre, Regards, Steve

Thanks for that.
It appears that if I use a 17" rim I am actually further restricted in tyre choice due to being tubed although it seems I can get a supermoto rim that might do the job. Seems like it might all be more trouble and expense than it is worth. Still fancy getting the rims and hubs in black but again is it worth the expense?
