Spoked Wheels

#1 PostAuthor: warwick » Mon Feb 26, 2007 9:13 pm

I'm trying to sort out some spoked 17" wheels for my 83 z1000j. Any ideas which hubs I could use? I've currently got a 17" x 6 1/2" rear (possibly off a ZX7) and the front is standard.

Z1000 A1 or A2, or Zephyr if you can find them. Or Triumph - but that's only got one brake at the front. Klasmo do special billet ones but they're quite expensive and it's hard as hell to find anything on their website.

http://www.talon-eng.co.uk/
We have used the talon hubs, the look great as there cnc machined from billet and not horrible cast hubs and they dont cost the earth either.

Thanks for the advice. I had no luck with talon and klasmo are a bit on the pricey side. Triumph's Thunderbird Sport has twin discs but second hand ones are rarer than hen's teeth. Triumph don't sell the hubs new, only as built up wheels, Again rather pricey! Then I thought what about the old style tiger? (which I used to ride for my sins) They have a 19" wheel but I could rebuild it into a 17" rim, I've not yet found one but they should be a bit easier to find than anything else.
