Vibration through the bars.

#1 PostAuthor: Monk » Mon Aug 31, 2009 6:01 pm

Anyone out there found a way to stop vibes through the bars ?

My hands start tingling after about 10 miles, by 20 miles it is a right pain in the arse (well, fingers really)

Bar snake ?
Rubber engine mounts ?
Fill bars with sand and fit the worlds heaviest bar end weights ?

iv'e had same trouble with all my zeds, iv'e put some lead flashing in the bars on my z1a but i cant decide if its any better or not. seems better but i still get it. seems worse at cruising speeds, 70/80mph. Have tried loosening engine mounts and tightening them up again, funny thing is i dont remember it being a problem when i first got one back in the late 70's etc.

Guys

I could ride for ever back then.

I reckon it's down to a life time of smoking and now bad circulation causes the tingling.

cut a rubber fan belt and push as far down into the bars as poss , we used to put fan belts in long hollow cylinders for printing when lathing down a size or two at a metre plus in length they used to vibrate at high speed and the rubber belt acted as a damper , best thing we ever used , so it may help in the bars .

I have had a similar problem and also was never too confident in adjusting my cam chain using the standard adjuster. I have fitted an APE Manual adjuster and feel that the vibration is better.

I might be wrong but it is worth checking.
