Z650 tank

#1 PostAuthor: mothra » Tue Jun 09, 2009 3:27 pm

I have a thread in the bike help section about a horrible problem with my paintwork caused by a hole in the tank. It's going to be sorted, but I need another tank to do it with - does anyone have a z650 tank in reasonable condition they can bring themselves to part with?

Thanks,

Stu

Stu - i have a old Z650 tank you can borrow on a temporarily basis as long as you don't mind a whopping big dent in the side of the tank and 80's custom paint work

I was actually looking for one to repaint with less holes in it than the one I have, so I couldn't use yours with the awesome, if period paint. :-) Thanks though - I may ask to borrow if we decide to work with the one I have...

Mothra - I have a spare Z650 tank. It's not here at the moment as we've recently moved house. I will collect it from Grannies ( ) house on the weekend and see if it looks okay to use. It came with the 650 I bought from Mr Pigford ages ago and from what I can remember looks pretty horrible paint wise but is mostly the right shape :!:

I'll PM you when I've got it back at home.

Currently no bids, P&P a bit high but odds are you'd get it for much cheapness

Yeah, I'm keeping an eye on http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=280354983982 as well - as it appears it MAY be dent free... :-) I'd always rather get one from a known source though! :-)

What are you looking for for the side panels?

Thanks Buckle - looks lovely. Well, it doesn't, but it could, if you know what I mean.

Ted1r, if M1ks doesn't have them can you PM me what you want for them?
