Thought I'd ask here first as I'm not a member of any 650 sites.
My mate needs one of those confounded double spring side stands complete.
Would anyone have one that they would be willing to part with?
Cheers
Gus

Hi Warren.
Thanks for the link. I got in touch with Tania and asked her if she had one and that is what she listed.
Doesn't look like the right spring to me and one spring is missing.
I'm trying to get one complete instead of faffing around buying individual springs etc that may not be right.
I'll have to register on the 650 site and ask on there.
Cheers

Gus, I think faffing will be the only way your end up with what you need. They never normally have any springs with the stand or if they do they'll be rusty as fuck so will need replacing anyway.
Grab it whilst its there and sort the springs separately.

IIRC those twin spring stands fitted on the later models were only there cos they had an idiot style stand cut off to stop you riding away with the stand down.
Just bypass that switch and use a conventional sidestand. Better still, get hold of a KE125 side stand like I did, cut it to the correct length and then the bike will no longer sit at 45 degrees as most do on stock sidestand setups

Why do I persist in debating with idiots ? I really should know better

Hi Charlie.
The problem I have is somebody has already bodged a welded effort side stand and stretched bed spring on to the bike already and it won't stay down on its own.
A standard stand wont travel through its own arc because it fouls on the mounting.
I'll have to cut away the mounting and position a pivot somewhere to accept the old style spring
Cheers
