Guys, Im looking for a front and back end for my 1000J project, does anyone have Yokes, Wheels, Forks etc for sale from a ZRX? I think this is a fairly easy way to move forward..

yokes and forks.

I Have a z1100r front end, 43mm forks and yokes. I would be tempted to part with if they would be any good for you.
They have offset top yokes which lets you restore some ride height when fitting modern forks.
Should drop into a j frame with some bearing changes they certainly fit in a1 frames ok.

Got a complete Zephyr front end with a matching rear wheel. The caplipers have been rebuilt. You'd just need a Zephyr S/A which tend to go for about £50.

I have a ZRX swinging arm that,s been machined down to fit the 235mm old Z frame size, never fitted it in the end to my z1000a1 as I wanted to keep the rear brake stud and the rear footrest hangers just in case I ever put mine back to standard.

Eddie sounds ideal! Seems the J also uses a 235mm arm so should just fall into place :) I've sent you a PM. Cheers

Lee did you get my PM with the following info,
ZZR Top yokes are stepped allowing you to regain length. they are stepped by about 15mm.

ZZR Yokes are 33 mm offset stem diameter 28mm top 30mm bottom.

they are 30 inches long, spindle centre to top of the leg.

ZRX Are non stepped yokes and are 18mm top and 32mm bottom stem diameters with fork length 30.5 inch.

So zzr yokes and forks achieve the same ride height as zrx ones.
Holeshot fitted them to his z1000

Do you definitely want to go with right way up forks as I might have some USD ones that are available tomorrow.

Hi sorry I did get your PM I forgot to reply.. Sorry about that. I'm still figuring this out, looks like I Eddie has a ZRX swingarm for me, so one thing sorted. I was planning RWU forks because I prefer the classic look, plus end goal is to stick a pair of Ohlins RWU on there once I get a bit further with the bike.. I'm thinking the ZZR yokes don't have a bar mount is that correct? If so I'll need to change the yokes straight away.. Again will get some proper ones eventually..

Gary had Zephyr 1100 stuff, not sure if that will be better for ease of fitting than the ZZR ones? Like is say its tenporary so easier the better to get a rolling chassis back together. Main focus on the motor just now :)

I have a set of zephyr forks, front wheel, tyre, discs, mudguard, calipers, hoses, master cylinder, clutch lever, handlebars, headlight and bracket. These drop straight in a Z1000J and give you 4 pot calipers etc straight away

Z1000J3 and GPZ1100B2 clocks bolt up to the mounting lugs as well and the ignition switch fits!

I also have the rear end, swing arm, wheel caliper, disc, sprocket, chain guard, Hagon shocks Has the advantage of already being twin shock, so no welding to a mono-shock swing arm.

PM me if interested, thanks.
