Chaps,

Has anybody got a genuine / original `77 Z1000 A1 Rear Wheel Spacer, as shown in the photograph, that they would be willing to part with?...it's the one that fits in the hub and butts up against the inside face on the rear disc brake caliper.

Failing that is anybody in the process of restoring, or has access to one, that could take measurements off for me so that I can machine one up?

Cheers,

Paul

Cheers guys,

Ade: the problem is I'm not sure of the overall dimensions. What you see in the photographs is a spacer I machined having taken dimensions from the caliper / edge of the disc etc. I'm having some issues with the pads rubbing and the disc getting hot that appears to be down to an alignment issue...I'm after a genuine one as then I can be confident that, at least, the spacing from the hub will be correct. I'm thinking that, with the one I machined, I've cocked up on the dimension calculations....I've played about with some shim spacers hoping that it would cure the problem, but no joy as yet.

Keith: That's great...I'll keep you posted. Yeah, `top hat` configuration sounds good.

Just as an aside Paul I'm pretty sure that the parts manual Fiches state the overall length of the spacer after the part number might be worth a look but will measure this evening when I get home ...... edit ......sack that it gives it for the other side but not the disk side

Just done some digging and 42032-070 is for the A1...A3 up to 78 it changes to 42032-080 from then and fits the Mk11 A3 A4 Z1r's and all the police models. Im pretty Sure the one I have is off a Z1R so there may be a size difference but either way will measure up cos the will be a way around it

Hi Keith, many thanks for information buddy.

I'll run a rule over the spacer that I machined that is in place at the moment...I know it's not too far out with regards to the length so I'll be able to work which is the right length I should be working to.

Cheers.
