I need a longer sidestand for the J.
Perhaps the Euro J stand is longer (the one with the dog leg in it) or possibly an 1100R one.
What have you got?
Mine is 11 inches bolt centre to toe tip.

Hello Al, Had a similar issue after raising the back end of my 1000j by 40mm, soon found out I needed a longer stand. All my research was fruitless...nothing! Worked out that it needed to be 330 long. So I cut it just below the peg for the spring, fabricated a piece of tube ( bottle jack handle I think  ), lined it all up and welded it, little bit of work with a flap disc, couple of coats of grey primer and paint and job done....and you can hardly notice
the joints.. Give it a go!

Al.
I'm not sure if my 1100R stand is actually the correct item. I had a UK J frame as you know which used the 3 spring version. The 1100R frame is the same as my Euro J but I have fitted a Unitrak stand which whilst it is the same length is cranked in such a way that it fits nicely around my rearsets.

Thanks JP i may end up having to do that but its a slippery slope that way and before you know it you're cutting bits from the frame. :D

Chris yours looks like an 1100R one but here is an original as far as i know.

Al,

Have you considered this sort of thing?

Possibly Dave at Saisei could source you one, or you could consider re-engineering yours in a similar fashion.

Al,

I've just been 'rooting about' in the shed & found what I think is a Unitrak stand, which appears to be a good half inch longer than your's. :crnk

If you PM me an address I'll get it off to you asap.
