I am on the lookout for an cb550 cb500 or XS 650 condition not a problem if anyone's got one for sale please there's a nice cb550 on ebay in hull

i prefer the spoked wheels on a cb550 myself, like this one. but that can be changed.

Lost the plot many moons ago, too much probably too much Scrumpy.

However to answer the above question, and apologise for my prior comment.

I have had bad experiences with 1970`s 4 clinder H***** SOHC`s and would nt touch one with a barge pole. However I may have been very very unlucky !

On the other hand the XS650 is a reliable lovely bike. Would love another but have recently been reducing the number of bikes.

Strange as the most reliable bike I ever had was a onda 500/4 k3 Italian import, and I missed out on UK Kevs XS, I viewed the pics on his site and said yes please but someone else was booked to look at it and bought it,
So i'm still looking beer tokens on the ready.

Well have now purchesed an xs650 13 hour round trip from the Wirral to torbay next to torquay great bike but had a motad exhaust fitted thats now removed and a nice loud one fitted

Well I had a brown cb550 with ace bars and loved the way it burbled along. Soon forgot about it when I got the Z650 though :D
