Hi all

My new (to me) Z900 has rear sets, and I am not fashionable enough to ride it with them, so I am looking for a proper set. Anyone got any? I did get a pair from ebay but they don't fit.

Also, I have managed to get a rear brake pedal suitable for the disc brake set up on the Z900, but the push rod doesn't fit the brake pedal, piccy below showing brake pedal, large fitting that came with it and push rod currently fitted to bike.

So the suspicion is that you have a master cylinder that's been fitted in a non standard position.
So you may have to get a custom push rod made.

Easy enough for some of the peeps on here, or yourself?

Any chance of a picture of the master cylinder on the bike?

A picture of the rearsets on it as well would help

and a closer view for the master cylinder.

The rear disc brake was a matter of some discussion with the seller, who believed it was fitted from a Z1000, or was a very late Z900 and a US spec, which was fitted with a disc brake as standard.

I just nodded and smiled sweetly, knowing nothing :)

So, I need a set of standard footrests, anyone got any they will exchange for beer tokens?

I work in Sheffield where every other industrial unit is an engineering shop, so shouldn't have a problem with the brake rod.

Whats the frame no? looks like a std z1000A1/2 lever should fit..
the rearsets are Tarozzis which go on the std mounts, why don't the ones you bought go on?

I'll check the frame number tomorrow, the bike is at work at the moment.

The right hand footrest goes over the standard mounts, although it's a pig to force it over it. But before it seats back against the frame, the end of it hits up against the clutch cover.

I don't think they are actually Z900 foot rests, but I could be wrong and am just doing something stupid
