Anyone got a 28mm x 1mm HSS split die I can blag/borrow/rent etc.
Only need it for 10 mins to extend the thread on a steering stem and would prefer not to pay £100 for something i'm gonna use once.

I know its not the exact pitch required but I have used Tracy Tools before and they are normally the cheapest about and really helpful when you need something different.

Give them a call as they might be able to source one at a decent price.

Saw that but not it's not split or HSS and there's some bad feedback about quality.
Getting desperate now so am biting the bullet and stumping up the cash for a decent one.
Maybe see if I can ebay it for a decent price or hire it out for a tenner a time to recoup some pennies once I've had my 10 minutes with it

If you have access to a lathe, how about spinning it between centers with a drive dog and use a tip tool 60 degree external,
eBay item # 370542487363
And set up for 1mm pitch and manually cut it,take a while but cost is low..
Cheapest i came up for a die,not split was $77 from Ali Express,i have bought from them a M23 x 1 tap, came in good time 4-5 days,no contact though i did have the idea it was a scam until the tap arrived.
