here's a good reference page for you from John Brookes which explains the dates on rims. I'm sure there used to be a very useful bit at the bottom which also told you which bikes the various rims belonged to (303,305,301...) but for some reason it's been taken off.

ah, just found this on another forum.... not as complete but still useful - Z1 and Z2 are the same as H2.

The H1's are 305, H2 is 303 , S3 front is 308, S3 rear 307.
