I'm once again looking for these, not really happy to pay £45 + for pattern ones but if anyone has any spare ones going give me a shout. I'm looking for cables Outer: 83.5cm - Inner: 92.5cm, or there about. The ones I bought from the States are classed as for high bars but they must be for a bloody chopper as they are about 6 inches too long!!

Was hoping I could get them for about £20 as the push one is only a tenner.

If anyone knows where the pull version of this hides please let me know :)

p.s. do you really need a push and a pull, they both look the sames to me!! :??

Here you go. Pull cables are harder to come by and can make strong money but these seem reasonable.

Good price but they are the same length as the ones I have, 43.5 inches long for the inner. The cables I need are about 34 / 35 inches long for the inner, that's the original cables that came with the bike.

I tried clicking on the short cable but the size mentioned is 40 inches inner :(

I don't know why these cables are too long for my bike, perhaps my 'high' bars aren't that high or perhaps I'm routing the cables incorrectly???

American Bikes have higher bars?
I would phone Z1 Enterprises up or email them, they do the shorter cables.
Very very helpful firm.

The lengths you mention don't make a lot of sense - the very shortest throttle cables fitted to the Z1/KZ1000 family were on the Z1R - and that's these cables. http://www.z1enterprises.com/ItemDetail ... =MP01-0233 40.5" from nipple to nipple.

If you have the original cables, there will be a part number on them. If genuine, it will be 12-xxxx - the 12 refers to a partial for the Kawasaki part number 54012-xxxx.

The Z1R came with handlebars similar to superbike bars. I'm not 100% sure of the bars sold on the UK version of the 1000, but I can't imagine they are lower than the Z1R bars.

Hi Jeff, thanks for the reply. The cables I had (with drag bars mind) were numbered: 12-1020 and 12-150 (approx 35 inches long inner without slack, i.e. not nipple to nipple) . I can take a photo of them with a tape measure but the are deffo much shorter than 40 inches :/ Nipple to nipple, yes 40 inches but these aren't supposed to suit the high bars, although having tried my old cables they seem perfect as I possibly routed them differently to make them fit (if than makes sense?).

So I reckon yes, the 40 inch should work if I route them correctly though, so I'm thinking the short 40 inch cables are correct for me.

Order will be in the post soon for 40 inch cables :)

John, when I check the kawasaki.com parts info, the 12-150 cable is showing for the USA spec KZ1000A models which came with high bars. THis would be an equivilent to our cable MP03-0001. A 43.5" cable nipple-to-nipple. The other cable you mention is not one that shows on the USA parts cross-reference.

Check your lengths again if you can. I don't have any UK parts reference info, so I can only go by the USA cables and/or the lengths you measure.
