Yeah I know they are rarer than an honest politician but if anyone has or spots a Z650 Alfa exhaust or a set (or just some) front pipes for sale - please give me a shout.

This is the LH exit Alfa system on my old Z650 from back in the day.

Z650/750/GPZ750 are all the same BTW ...

I have a rechromed silencer - but desperately need some front pipes so I can use it on my current bike ....the chromers polished my current set too hard and they are useless now. One even split :(

Thanks

Charlie, If you still have the remains of the downpipes, it might be worth having a word with Dave at Exhaustcraft, to see if he can make you some copies in stainless. Then you could get 'em polished up by Mikey. You should find 'em both in the Links section....... Hang on, I'll have a look.

Thanks for the suggestion mate. I have to ring Dave on Monday cos I am considering going the Piper replica route as I cannot use my Alfa so I will ask him,
but if he is like the guys down here he will likely need the bike rather than making 'em to pattern from the originals. That is a bit of a problem as things stand. I have a V&H on at present but am not a big fan of it.

Charlie, I think Dave already has the jig to make the pipes for the 650,

I'm pretty sure he did Guy's pipe!!

Thanks guys

That piper rep. looks stunning.

I think the 900 front pipes would be longer ( I will check that though) so am not sure if they would fit.

Dave has a frame and engine set up for a 650 which he works from. Did a fantastic job on my exhaust. I'm sure he'll be able to make you some down pipes coming out on the left.

Its my old knackered engine cases from the first 650 I bought and I don't think he would have any trouble making a set if you sent him your rear section Charlie. Not sure if he would do them in mild steel though, but stainless would last and not need to be chromed.

I agree stainless would be the best bet Jim. Chroming mild steel would only create more cost and work anyway mate.

I may need to leave this request open.

I spoke with Dave at ExhaustCraft this morning and although he could make some - the cost could well be prohibitive as they would be specials.

I may end up going the full Piper replica route and just playing a waiting game for if any of these turn up ....

Did you try the old 'I'm sure they would be really popular and I'm sure you'd sell plenty of others!' ploy?

I guess I could Gary ... but he also comes on here, so unless he is met with a sudden flurry of enquiries for Alfa copies, I doubt he is gonna get involved in a 3rd style of exhaust, as well as titanium or stainless in the ones he already does.

I always preferred the Alfa precisely because of it's LH exit - just cos it was a little different to the usual. Maybe I am in the minority in that though ?
