Lads, has anybody got a set of working 26mm carbs they want to sell?
Having problems with my Z1000A2 and pretty much convinced it's down to some knackered carbs now.
In a perfect world it would be a set that came off a bike that had been working properly so I can hopefully take the doubt about mine out of the equation.
Just missed a set from Duane on ebay that would have been perfect..doh!
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Hi Chris,
I've a set of mint ones taken off my A2 .
They've just come back from a total rebuild by Oz at Zed Parts.
It was a no expense spared job, so unltrasonically cleaned, new seals, gaskets etc with choke & float heights set etc etc.
Oz is meticulous so they should be as near to new as you can get for a 30+yr old item.
They ran well on my bike before but wanted them 100% but whilst they were being done I bought a set of flat slides which I've since fitted so these are now surplus to requirement.
The only thing missing is the main jets as I changed those due to the engine being tuned.
All settings are standard - you'll just need to fit the main jets of your choice.
No idea on price - I'll ask the guys on the forum what's reasonable and let you have them for that.
I've spend £300 just on getting them sorted so am going to lose money whatever - just that I can't ever see me using them again, so may as well use the money for something else.
Let me know if you're interested.
Cheers,
Hilton.

Cheers for the reply Hilton,
I MAY have sorted it using various parts from the three sets I already have and rebuild kits, but if it's still causing me massive grief then I'll be in touch.
Thanks for your help fella.
best
Chris

Hi Chris,
That's good news - glad you may have found a remedy.
Can anyone guide me on what a reasonable price for my carbs(described above) might be?
I deliberately didn't want to ebay them but a few forum guys have just enquired about them so wouldn't mind the carbs going to someone on the forum......and would like them to get a decent deal as I'd just have them in my garage doing nothing otherwise.
Any (serious

)pointers guys?
Cheers,
Hilton.

I've sold refurbed carbs on ebay for around £280 in the past, but they weren't to such a high specification as yours. I would think getting your £300 back shouldn't be a problem.
I'd be tempted to stick 'em on ebay with a full description of whats been done & some good pics, with a start price of £300 & see where they go from there.

Thanks GB - very useful advice.
I thought I'd rather let someone on the forum get a decent deal than go on Ebay, tho now you've given me a 'ball-park' figure to work with.
Thanks again for your usual helpful advice.
Cheers,
Hilton.
