Is there anyone on here that can help me out with a small one-off machine job? I need a piece of aluminium 40mm o/d round bar, 19.5mm long with a hole up through the centre.
Anyone?
Paypal, cash, cheque, postal order. Whatever is easiest...that means I pay you not the other way round
Thanks
Nigel

I've enquired with 2 machine shops where I live and no-one is really interested in silly little jobs like this, it's a case of "I'll do it when can", which usually involves a complete slip of the mind.

I'll have a look tomorrow evening, if I have a bit of bar 40mm Dia or bigger I'll knock it up for you.
What size hole do you need up the middle?
Oh, if I have the bar and make it for you then you'll owe me a coffee if we meet up at a show or smething.

seeing as you are in Salisbury you could try Lamb Engineering (South Newton), he's a biker and may do you a favour just for a one off.
There is another guy in Harnham that does bike restorations in his garage and he does machining, I can't remember his details but we have used him for stuff at work so I will find his contact details and let you know.

Nigel, If none of the above can help, then give me a shout. My charges may be a little higher than Nasher's............. I'd like a pint!

Sorry Nigel, looks like the small piece of 50mm ali bar I thought I had has gone walkabout.
Now my lads are getting older and having projects of their own there's a lot of stuff going missing.

Sounds very much like the rear shock absorber mount? I had a local machinist here make them. Charged £30 each I recall. Let me know if you get stuck if you need me to speak to him.
