Hi Adrian, beg steal or borrow a Gunson colortune, set the idle mix at tickover using this till you get nice bunsen blue,(check the seats on the choke plungers these can perish letting fuel through at tickover hence rich)when you get a good bunsen blue and you have checked the following all jets clear and standard, needle notch set to middle, float height set manually or using manometer method, all carb rubbers to airbox and to head supple and sucking in no air, air filter clean, spray wd40 around and see if engine note changes to check. Then balance carbs using dial gauges or mercury gauges as last stage. As far as i know the carbs i sold you are bog standard should be a good starting point give me a pm or call if you are struggling Cheers Paul J.
