Z1A parts wanted.

#1 PostAuthor: bondy » Wed Nov 16, 2016 1:05 am

I have bought a Z1A from Florida with a few non standard items fitted. I am keen to put the original bits back on. I am looking for the following items please.

Air box assembly
Centre stand with fittings.
Front guard
4-4 exhaust pipes.
5" high US spec handlebars.
Chain guard.
Idiot light lower cover.
US spec rear shocks.
Standard barrels and good Pistons.
Standard rear wheel rim or complete wheel.

What do you have?

My email is acebuilders@hotmail.co.uk

Please either email me or PM here. Thanks.

What condition parts are you looking for? Is it a show bike or a work horse.

I'm going to rebuild it to show standard. But I will end up having a lot of the chrome re done. The barrels on the bike have been bored out and flat slide carbs have been fitted. I'm keen to put the standard stuff back on. I have a chain guard, but where the previous owner fitted a wider alloy rear wheel rim, the tyre has rubbed on the chain guard.

re the idiot light cover lower is that the underneath bit, i might have one , look later tonight for you,
you be better off buying a new air box, old ones are a bugger to fit to the carbs as they go rock hard.

you can get most of what your looking for here as already mentioned original air box would be unusable as the rubber shrinks & goes rock hard. original exhausts i wouldn't touch unless they where new & you would need a mortgage if you did find a set? & the pattern ones are just as good if not better quality

While most of the Zed range will fit, the wheels are Month & Year date stamped so might be worth listing when the bike was made in the off chance someone may have a similar date wheel to help keep your bike original.

Even if the wheels had the matching date codes to the rest of the bike but came off another bike they would be just as unoriginal as any other ones! this is the one thing I can never get about restorations it is either original or it's not, if it's not it's just people bluffing themselves and others.
