Z1000 A1 Pipes
A long shot I know, but does anyone have a set of pipes that they would be willing to part with, top condition if possible, to put on the resto i am doing with Martin B's bike I bought off him last week. Cheers David

No, not sure if the existing pipes are the right ones, I assume they are just as difficult to get.
Inner two down pipes are not as difficult to get hold of David, pairs pop quite regularly on ebay USA. As usual it's always the silencers that rot away long before the headers.
Remember also there is a connecting link pipe and 2 outer cover shields to hide the joints.

I have a set of mint silencers and the two side guards. I don't have the two middle down pipes though. Price wise I don't have a clue but not going to let them go cheap as they are like hens teeth to get hold of.
The one does have a slight rattle but only if you chuck it about. Never heard it rattle though on the bike.

Guys any idea what I should be asking for these pipes if I decide to sell them?

The rattle sounds like the baffle plates rusting, had exactly the same on my A1 and eventually the odd rattle turned into a permanent one when plate collapsed completely. Sadly even though externally the pipe was perfect there is not much can be done other than all the work that would go with cutting them open and repairing them.
I managed to get hold of a decent replacement LH pipe for £250. So I'd say around £4-500 for the pair.
If David doesn't want them and you want to sell let me know as I'm hoping to get another pipe I've got repaired and re-chromed, so could get the two done together.

This is what I based the value on....
I'd say 2 nice outers are around £400 each, and complete with the other 2 headers, link pipe, link clamps and covers you'd be looking £1K+ for a GOOD full system.
I s'pose it's what you mark the one pipe down for the loose baffle. I got £100 for my rattly A1 pipe despite as said being outwardly perfect.
