Gpz1100 B1 BIG BORE KIT or NEW PISTON RINGS.?

#1 PostAuthor: KWACKERZ1 » Tue Nov 17, 2015 12:26 pm

Hi, I have a GPZ1100 B1 motor that needs a rebuild, I cannot bring myself to put it back together with used, piston rings but looking at the price of new sets, I am thinking,
do I just bite the bullet and big bore it or stick with standard rings.

Anybody have either a New set of Wisecos's or similar to suit
or some old stock new standard ring sets kicking about they may want to part with?

My current engine was 1260 wiseco j4239ps pistons but 2 and 3 have overheated and 1260 pistons are no longer available.

Blooming eck 1500cc,
If i take up drag racing i'll give you a ring, i dont think they would last a thrashing round spa.

I bought a new set of standard rings (genuine Kwaka) for my Unitrak, then temporarily lost the pistons  , and bought an 1170 Wiseco kit

I'm guessing the rings would be the same for the B1. You're welcome to them for what I paid for them.

we built a spondon retro z1 style ,it had a z1100r motor in it with a 1500 kit & mtc head with cams & 41mm frs, would of made more if we took the revs higher,
plan is to rebuild the motor in some z1 cases & house it in another spondon z1 frame I have this time with twin shocks
cosworth pistons are new ,and kinda surplus ,so I let you make an offer on them ,cheers neil
